Yeah I remeber my first IBM Aptiva Pent I....834.00 for the cheapest memory upgrade from IBM (do not remember how many megs)...Paid 345.00 for 32megs for a Compaq Contura Aero laptop...Of course I was a dummy and had to have "IBM" and "Compaq" memory...

Kingston at my local shop is still a lot more then no name stuff. This is speaking of the pc 3200 stuff.

kingston 512 ddr400=$229
No name 512 ddr400=$150
Corsair is $249. Still think it's overpriced for the performance gain.

But on the ddr333 prices are only a like $5 difference.

I doubt it, memory prices have gone down from a few months ago; gas prices have been going up.

yay more of an excuse to stay inside iwth my computer!!!
lolz jk... sorta...

guys you gotta remember that Corsair is considered one of the best brand of memory, the fact is they can still sell it at that price... so why not? we arent gonna start to go to cheaper ram that wont preform, are we? i know i wont if it means 50mhz less fsb or even 30mhz less

Plus with Corsair you're buying a guarantee that the RAM will work at high speeds and tight timings. Especially with their new Low Latency Seriec PC3200....that's an effective 400MHz at 2-2-2-5!!! That's some serious hand-picking going on, not to mention the testing to make sure it meets the standards.

Plus, you also have lots of people getting their Corsair beyond even those high specs!

Anyone else old enough to remember when memory was in the $90-105(CAN) range per meg!!!? Thats what it was at when I went to do my first upgrade from my XT to my 286.

I am not sure I want to use dual channel memory on my nforce2 board, can anyone show me some reviews using dual channel?

Yes, I remember as well as paying over $1200 (or was it $2100) for a 512MB Harddrive that ran at 3000rpm?? (can't remember the speeds back then, I'm old.) Also, don't forget about being all happy that the 133MHz CPU came out and moved so much faster than the 77MHz when using Windows 3.0 and 3.11 for workgroups. :D

Bill Gates once stated, "I can't see a day when anyone would need more than 840MB of harddrive space" OK Bill whatever you say buddy.

Hey hey! Lighten up on Ol' Bill, I see you are running WinXP there....

And, thanks for the link Hookem. Dual Channel it is!!!!
