don't know that it has a universally accepted style name, but these are generally known as "cubes" ...

if you google "cube computer case" you'll find a number of hits ... the mountain mod cases seem popular here at ocf.

well the answer to: what kind of case is this?, is:

a big one

ok end of joke, i think that it is designed for use with something like a server or something needed alot of space for hard drvies and power supplies.
