What would you build if you needed a very small, FANLESS computer that has the ability to run windows 2000 somewhat fast and stable.

I was thinking about one of thouse Mini-ITX motherboards with a 150(?) watt sparkle power supply (with the fan removed) and a 4gb hard drive that supports HDD suspend mode. im not sure if you can remove the CPU fan from the C3.
it would rest in a small-as-possible sealed off plexi box with a few air holes in the top.

You can go completely passive with the C3 without any problems, but the fanless idea is hard to acheive with regular PSUs. You'll more than likely need to resort to using a tiny PSU to keep the heat down.

So do some research over at www.idot.com

if you go fanless even with the c3 cpu, you will want alot of air flow in the case, if you close it off too much, you will still overtemp the little c3. but it sound like a good idea.

fun yes...
watching DivX's in the car, "checking out wireless lans" etc...
