What would you recommend as a coolant for PC watercooling and why?

Definitely don't do like I did and throw 2 rigs in a corner for 5 years...
Though when I dug them out, the cooling systems were remarkably clean. This is with distilled water and PT Nuke.

If you have a rigorous schedule of maintenance, say a complete tear down and cleaning of the entire loop every six months, will fluids like Mayhem's Pastel line be acceptable?

Try every 3 months, waiting 6 is asking for staining to be more prominent.

I looked on Mayhem's website and they state that their fluids can be used up to 3 years, so I assume that you can reuse it between tear downs. Has anyone had any experience in how long the Mayhem's Pastel takes to break down to the point where it has to be replaced?
