which copy of windows 7 do i need for first install

im planning on upgrading to windows 7 from window xp. but there are so many diffent types of windows 7 online to buy. i know i need home edition 64-bit.

Since you're upgrading from an old version you can use

It does mean that if you plan to reinstall at a later date you either need to install windows XP first or trick it into thinking you had a previous version (Install trial windows 7 then install AGAIN with the serial key)

Not completely true, you can use that upgrade disk to perform a clean install.
