XFX Radeon RX470 Triple X Hard Swap Fan Graphics Card 4GB (£155) or the Sapphire NITRO+ RX480 4GB AMD Graphics Card (£205) which one would you say is the better card? thanks.

If youre on a really tight budget, the 470 is admirable for its cost. Im assuming thats what you're asking about. That said, it's all dependent on what games you play, what monitor you use, and the rest of your system.

True, but if the OP can afford a 480 or 1060 that would be better for the performance he's going to get out of the card, and worse for his bank account. It's all give and take. :D

The 480 is a much better card. Actually, the 1060 6 GB is even better, if you want to stretch your budget a bit more.

Really depends on cost of the cards where they live. Honestly I wouldn't even class the 1060 as better than the 480 they are very close give or take a few fps.

Especially in the latest games like Titanfall 2 and COD Infinity Warfare.....and they're DX11.

The RX 480 4GB is a better card. However I would look at the GTX 1060 if you can.

Those anandtech results don't have many games, and seem out of line with techpowerup and other sites.

I don't know what your saying, I spent time and look at all other Graphs from other websites and Anandtech does a great job and it is easy to look up comparisons also they compare 9 games that are inline with techpowerup 7% average lead with the GTX 1060 VS RX 480 . https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/RX_480_Gaming_X/9.html

Those are some encouraging numbers. I may have to add to the Classified section soon. :)

I guess I'm just saying the cards are much of muchness :)

I find looking at the anandtech results the 1060 kicks the RX 480's butt!

For example GTA 5

I just got the impression from both your posts that the 1060 was the one to go for out of the two, which is indeed accurate if prices are similar. Anandtech gives a larger impression than 7% gains that's for sure.

The problem I find when looking at comparisons is every website seem to have different results. maybe it's to do with driver versions and reference cards being tested I'm not sure. Anyway not having a go at your post just some observations ;)

If you look at the individual testing on Anandtech and techpowerup they both look like there more than 7% with the GTX 1060 you have to look at the numbers. Most of the games tested the GTX 1060 does 10% better in both sites, then they average in were the GTX 1060 does worse.

I'm not trying to be hard on you however take a look at the Benchmarks on both sites and Compare and you will see they come out the same.:) I don't like bar Graphs, however I look at the numbers.

Well even techpowerup doesn't include all the latest titles ie DOOM, infinity warfare, forza 6, Titanfall 2. Of which AMD would be competitive. Anandtech has a low sample of games tested, although I do admit I like the ease of anandtech's comparison tool.

I stand by my point that the cards are much of muchness though and sites like anandtech are clearly using a reference card (that throttles and only hits 1200mhz max) whilst 1060 even founder's edition will boost way above the rated boost clocks thanks to boost 3.0

It's similar to day one benchmarks of the 290X and how that changed dramatically. I wouldn't be basing my purchase decision on those benchmarks alone there's a lot of difference in the numbers around the place.

Again not having a go at you personally just my thoughts on the state of reviews and how they differ and/or offer a debatable analysis of performance.

Apologies if I'm coming across as argumentative lol
