I got a Celeron D sitting in the closet with the stock cooler and no fan running as my server. Runs 24/365 no problems at all. Never gotten hot, beeped, or complained. Compressing and decompressing all the data that comes into and out of it on the fly, so i can't complain about it. Not a performer, but not a slacker either. Does its job, and does it well.

For $60. I got a local deal on a used e3200, asrock twins1600 and 2gb Corsair Dominator. Running it at 3600mhz with a small bump in voltage. It's super fast compared to the single core A64 that it replaced. Just bought another 2gb ram for $25. to throw in there.

I can run it at 4000mhz but it requires 1.5v so for now I'm taking it easy on the chip. I do have a Scythe Ninja so heat is no concern.
