I want to jump on the skylake bandwagon, and i want to plop some cash on a future proof motherboard, will i be able to run skylake-e or 6 or 8 core processors on it?

Is there a skylake motherboard that can be considered to be the most future proof?

No, Skylake-E will be on a different chipset and socket.

No, all Z170 board will have the same future compatibility from Intel. The only difference is if a manufacturer decides not to release BIOS updates going forward on a board.

There are no plans for more than 4 cores on 1151 socket. I expect to see more cores on next platform which will be released in maybe 3 years since all is slowing down because of no competition and lower needs of users.
