Windows 7 install question

Hi,

Well basically i sold my new pc and i'm back to my old 1, i build it back together all working etc but i can't install windows 7, i put the cd in it loads up and then the windows 7 picture comes without anything to click or install - just a mouse cursor appears.

Currently on Windows XP and the cd i tried is not broken or w/e, i used it like 5 days ago and it completely worked on my old i5 2500k pc.

Sounds like the hard drive is not playing nicely... try doing a full reformat on the drive, I use killdisk to write zeros to the entire drive. Then try to install it again. Also might want to reset the BIOS.
