Im positive its not a hardware issue, perhaps its a "Crappy Software" *cough*Microsoft*cough* issue?

dont be so sure... maybe a re-installation will work, but i think theres more to it..

i would prefer you use firefox, but re-installing IE, and or upgrading should fix the problem.

It is most definitely an IE problem. Just because IE causes your window manager to close doesn't mean it's an issue with the window manager. IE is what is generating the problem, as evidenced by the error window that pops up. Try firefox and see if the problem goes away, if for no reason other than diagnostic. If the problem goes away, you'll know it's an ie issue. My previous post gives info on how to remove the problem even if you want to continue using IE.

and can you elaborate on "buggy code" ?

Ther are just more security holes in IE than other browsers because the software is not well written. The whole "but IE is more targeted than firefox..." whine is just an excuse that people use because they don't want to blame the problems on poor coding, the real issue.

No, my CPU isnt overclocked. I guess i will try firefox, i had it prior to my format, but I forgot to re-download it.

As for the memtest, ill run PRIME95 tonite while im asleep, should get errors by then huh? If not, how long should I run it?

why not just run memtest itself instead of prime95 ??

i must say that im not happy with the fact IE is not open source. but there is reason for that. and that has alot to do with vulnerabilities not be fixed quickly.

ie has windows subsytem vulnerabilities due to intergration.

firefox has similar problems but not same with intergration points. its subsytem vulnerabilities are within the graphical interface (XML).

Here we go, this is the one that keeps popping up.
Notice, its not Internet Explorer. I just uninstalled it, and I am using Firefox now.

Here we go, this was in the Error log for this error:

whine ??

dude... chiggity check yourself before you wreck yourself..

It's just an excuse that M$ fanbois use to defend the indefensible.

Firefox is open source and still has fewer vulnerabilities, despite the fact that hackers can look at the code at will.

Face it, IE is just shoddy quality.

Your logic rivals that of an ice cube.

IE still makes up about 65% of the browsers used on the internet.

I'm tired. If you want me to spell it out further, then let me know.

BTW. I don't use IE.

IE being more targeted is not an excuse. People who aren't defending IE, who don't use IE, who don't even like IE, will still admit that it's vunerability is linked to the fact that exploits are developed for the most common browser.

Code you open event viewer and post the information in there? The "detail" report is always way too confusing and in Event viewer is usually a very simple explanation. Such as "Dependent services failed to start" etc...

Who cares? MS sucks, Linux doesn't work with enough apps. :argue:

I wanna know what the solution is to this guy's problem.

No one is debating that IE holds the majority of the browser market. That's not the point. What has really happened is this. You have several browsers on the market, IE being one. IE has the largest market share, but the is the worst written with the most bugs and security loopholes. People target IE more than other browsers because it is easier to find security vulnerabilities in and because it is more widely used. So there is an underlying problem of shoddy craftsmanship. However, people hide behind the (true) fact that IE is more widely used and more widely targeted to cover up the even more important factor of crappy code. They use it as an excuse, not wanting to own up to the fact that the program is poorly written and insecure.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

Mate,

I think your system is unstable. I would look at the hardware first. Does your rig pass SuperPrime, 3DM01 loops or SuperPi 32M? Hve you performed any stability tests?

where do you get MS fanboy from ?

seriously ... or is this what you do when you want to get your point across ??
you say people whine and they are fanboys...

nice for a senior member ..

I'm not the one throwing around personal attacks. Talk to ice cube guy about that. Anyone who is a M$ fanboi won't find the statement an insult. For example, I'm a gentoo fan, it's a simple statement of fact. It wasn't meant to be an insult, simply that people are biased in favor of M$ and hence unable to see their faults. I find it absurd really that anyone could lay all of the faults of IE on it being more popular/more targeted and absolve M$ of all responsibility for the enormous number of security flaws found. You can't find a security flaw that is not there in the first place, no matter how much an OS is targeted or how popular it is.

I'm just tired of hearing such an absurd argument made. By that argument, no matter how perfect a piece of software is made, it cannot be considered better than IE, because any advantages in security or stability can simply be ascribed to the fact that it is less popular and less targeted. Also, no matter how poorly made IE is, any number of flaws, no matter how numerous and how severe, can be ascribed to its greater popularity and its status as a more popular target.

The argument is a catch all that, if accepted, makes it impossible to describe any software that is not the most popular as the best. That's a dangerous place to go, and not logically tenable.

IE is a perfect example of why monopolies are bad. M$ worked very hard to make a browser when netscape controlled the market. They tried to add every feature and fix every bug, and soon they had taken over the market. Now that they put their competition out of business, they no longer put much in the way of resources into developing IE. The existence of firefox is the only thing that drives them at all to improve the product, but unless they really start losing market share, there is little incentive at all to do anything at all. M$ has 50 billion on their books. In cash. Yet they cannot make a browser that is as stable, secure, and full featured as a bunch of kids working out of their basements in their free time for free? Monopoly is bad for innovation, and bad for all of us. That is why M$'s anticompetitive monopolistic practices must be stopped.

I remember when Microsoft go sued by Netscape for including there browser into Windows or something along those lines netscape won in fact. And then REAL (makes of real player) sued them as well for including there Windows Media Player into Windows they also won. It was in a Sky TV channel called ".TV" is was an ace channel shame it was shut down cause no of viewers.
