Hey guys,

I plan on buying 2x 8gb Corsair Vengeance for my main rig, replacing the 2x 4gb i already have.

Then putting the the 2x 4gb Vengeance into my HTPC. Since the htpc is running a 2nd gen i5 cpu they claim a limit of 1333mhz, but the vengeance i would use is 1866mhz . Would the Vengeance 1866mhz work in the system?

It should work fine. The BIOS would just down-clock it to DDR3-1333 (13.33 DRAM multiplier).

That depends on the board, and if the BIOS offers DRAM frequency options higher than DDR3-1333.
