As the thread title states, how much did you spend on the water cooling setup in your main system?

Last years thread is located
right here.

And I am changing the levels on the money spent on this poll as the last one's choices were too low to give a proper curve.

mudd

My loop hasn't changed much since last poll, still in the $401-$500 range. The only update I did to it was to upgrade to an Apogee XT from the Fuzion V1 I used to have.

$301-400 range on my CPU only loop.

MCP-355 - $70
XSPC Res Top - $40
MCR-320 - $50
MCR-220 - $40
EK Supreme HF Cu - $85
Barbs $2.50 x 10 - $20
Masterkleer tubing x 10 - $6 (Previously had Primochill Pro LRT @ $2/ft for $20.)
Hose clamps - $2.50/pair IIRC - $12.50
--------------------------------------------------
Total - $353.12 or $367.50, depending on tubing.

Good job on this poll mudd...the last one was a bit cheap for people that frequent our WC section. ;)

EDIT - Whoops...forgot fans. I've got three Delta screamers from Pauld in our classifieds. Not sure how much they were; I'm thinking $24 for the three of them, then I have two Ultra High Speed Panaflo fans on the other radiator, so that's another $30.

Darn...should have voted $401-500. Oh well.

I spent about 400, then was informed i didn't purchase the correct fans so that was another 50 dollars on high flow fans....fml planning on 2 gpu blocks soon, another 200.

I've always been keen to WC but after seeing those results it seem waayyy to expensive for me to justify. I'l just keep playing music to cover the sound of the fans =P

If you buy parts used, and buy a 2-302 heater core (77 bonniville) heater-core instead of a radiator you can get a good loop for less than $200.
However, I've found the biggest noise offenders are fans that run at 100% all the time, and crappy heatsinks.

Yeah, the last one I posted had all the cost choices too low for these forums, that's for sure. ;) And since you have teh Green Powa, just go edit your vote and subtract 1 from the $301-$00 choice and add 1 to the $401-$500 choice.:D

Done! (Yep...completely forgot that was possible.)

Spent my pretty pennies on a whole new WC with the new comp I'm currently building...It's shipping at the moment...probably come in next week. :)

Nice bump to whoever did it and deleted their post or voted without posting

My CPU loop was on the high end of $401-500.

somewhere around 650 for my WC and about 500 on my wifes.

I put $500-$600, but I am more likely putting what I WISH I spent... I should probably change it to $1,000+ *cry*

If your water cooling for performance, get a 2nd job and buy a better hardware... If you enjoy water cooling, get a 2nd job and start water cooling. LOL

I think I went over a 1000 dollars... Bitspower couplings everywhere, dual pump setup with EK top and res, Apogee XT, Swiftech GPU block, MIPS RAM block, HW Labs GTX 560 and 120 rads, load of high-rpm fans, 30W 6 channel fancontroller, the list goes on. And then there's the little things like miswiring your fancontroller and blowing said device and the two pumps connected to it, setting you back well over 250 dollars in replacements. Lovely.

Didn't buy everything in a day though (doubt anyone does), saving up and collecting parts for this build took me well over half a year before I finally completed it.
