considering there is often 199 deals on the 80gb on new egg I dont see why anyone would buy the 160gb for well over $450+

I want these suckers to come down to $1 a Gig, that is when I jump on the SSD bandwagon.

i think your going to be waiting a long time. i dont even think velicoraptors are at 1$ a gig yet and ssds blow them out of the water.

had one just a week or 2 ago on newegg shell shocker came with adapters to 3.5". one sec ill dig up the link.

and there was another one like i said a couple of weeks ago for $199 though i cant find the link atm. im sure we will see them come down to this area soon enough.

You don't really need one that big. The biggest benefactor of a SSD is the OS. It actually works quite well having a smallish one and making it mostly for the OS. The 60GB OCZ Vertex I have does a great job of that.

300GB VRs go for $180 or so on sale. Thats' well below $1/GB.

I'm hoping that sometime next year SSD's will be more in my price range. Or that I just have some money to spend on PC stuff in general...
