Looks good. Do you mind if I ask, why you went with the Gigabyte board? And I'm guessing you went with the clawhammer and AIW since you will be doing video editing? What memory are you getting? I have the OCZ PC3500 CAS 2 memory, runs high FSB with low timings. (check my sig)

Yes primary reason is video editing....I opted for the gigabyte board because of the onboard 8 channel audio and the pci/agp locks. It has a pretty decent rep and guatam seem to like it. I am not using a mobile processor because it does not have the warrenty like the retail package. (even though probably worse overclocking) Same memory as yours.

Well the system is being built for a friend . He wants to have a very reliable machine with intact warrenty. Using another heatsink voids the warrenty. I think it will oc a couple hundred mghz no problem. My athlon 64 lappy with the same chip(although dtr vs retail desktop) does 2400mghz benchable. I am pretty sure I can do a little but I do not want an unstable machine for the long haul. I am getting him to switch from a p4 and I want him to be happy he made the switch for the AMD. Good idea and thanks for the advice ...any others?

I know, I meant I picked that one instead of the nforce 150 boards for that reason. I want a little oveclocking, but do not care about super high clocks. The performance change from his 550 mghs p3 will be enough!!!!!

From the reviews I've read the MSI K8N Neo Platinum is one of the best boards, and definatly better than the gigabyte, also the new Epox motherboard really rocks.
everything looks good, except the monitor, if your friend's planning on playing games on that beast, consider getting a 16ms or less response time LCD.
I'm not sure how good Hitachi drives are, but a successor to IBM, I personally wouldn't trust them too much. IMHO you should go with a Maxtor.

The hitachi drives are reliable as I have a pair in raid and are faster than the 36 gig raptors . The board is less than the MSI with a couple more things in the package. It has been oced to 2600mghz with no volt mods. I do not need more than 2300 mghz.
If you look at the reviews on newegg, that particular screen does not have as much of the problems with ghosting as most in that price range. I t is going to be used primarily for video editing anyways.
