I was running my E8500 @ 445x9.5 for 4.227 vcore at 1.368 full tilt bumped it to 455 a couple times for futuremark runs.

My 445 kept idle temps around 48C and max full load at 68-70C with a sunbeam core contact in a Antec 1200.

However it wasn't completely stable. tried messing with voltages etc.
Yesterday I decided to max out my FSB, I got to 500 x8 and couldnt get into windows tried 5mhz intervals till I got in at 490 x8 at vcore 1.378 in bios, ran prime 95 for a bit and checked temps good to go. Went in to bios changed multi to 9 and FSB to 480. Ran Prime for 20 minutes, good to go, ran 4 runs of 3dmark 06 zero issues temps good, setup prime to run over night, it apparently crashed after about 45 minutes.

Vcore is 1.378
PLL is 1.24
Mem is 2.0
Nb is 1.26
Sb is 1.20
GTL on auto
mem timings
5-5-5-18-50 2T running 1:1
Temps remain 48 idle and 68-70 full load

Any ideas how I can balance this out?

FYI I love having a faster FSB I might be crazy but 3.8ghz at 480 fsb felt faster in windows than 4.2 at 440...

Why not up the vcore to 1.4? I've been running me E8500 at 1.4v folding 24/7 for about a year now. I needed 1.4 just to hit 4.0GHz :(

Do you have a C1 or E0 stepping? If you have C1 you might have to set your goal a wee bit lower.

Idk I was trying to stay low, didnt realize how common 1.4 is... lol Ill try that
Its a EO and it feels like a really nice chip, I think my noob intel ocing is holding it back.

Upped to 1.384, priming now, gaming was fine.

One core is 20hr stable at 4.3 478x9 Vcore at 1.392 load, one core fails after 3 hours, any tips or would I have to up voltage or lower fsb as if it was both cores?

Seems very stable in ever other way, zero issues for once

Any tips?
Im not sure I want to run hotter but maybe 1.4 flat in bios would kick me over with nearly zero extra heat. I need to get a true I think :)
