FFX--Cloudy Mirror Help

OK. I know I'm supposed to go the sparkley bridge, and fork left, but there's a guy there blocking my path, saying he's glad the path is back, yadda yadda.

I've reunited the father and mother, but I can't get to the kid to activate the cloudy mirror. Any advise?

Found the answer... Had to talk to each of the parents 2-3 times apiece (repeated contact) to get them looking for the kid, which gets rid of the man blocking the path.
