That is the downfall I see as of now with ddr3, the prices for quality ram with good timings is just incredible. Granted most ram can be tuned down to a lower cas with lowered timings, but it is about as hit or miss as unlocking the 4th core on the 720's. Sometimes you get good tuning sticks and sometimes they will crap out 15Mhz extra on the bus.

Yes I still prefer ddr2 for that reason. You can get great cas5 1066 for $50/4gb.

This is very true, and most of that ram can be tuned down to cas 4/ 800mhz and then get some great clocks out of it.
