The order will likely be rejected... for your sake, I hope it doesn;t!

Its also not a "2K" monitor. Its 2560x1440. 2K is 2048x1080. ;)

ahahaha, I hope the order wont get rejected!
and yeah, as we've discussed... 2k seems like a very loosely defined resolution. I've been checking the prices on monitors on several websites every day for a couple of weeks, and nothing has come even close to this in terms of pricing. Considering the fact that it's a Samsung unit, the deal definitely seems too good to be true, but my credit card has been charged and I've received a confirmation email, so I'm fairly optimistic!

1440p is sometimes called "2.5K". 2K is sometimes used to refer to the now ordinary 1080p or the 2048x1536 resolution used on the iPad screens.

That's a great deal on an IPS type monitor.

Ive never heard of 2.5k, nor is 2k correct when referring to 1920x1080. :)

It is not a loosely defined defintion. There is a resolution for 2k which is 2048x1080. It is not 1920x1080, it is not 2560x1440. :)

Is there? I've been wondering about that for the past few days as I've been searching for monitors/video cards. I even checked the wikipedia page concerning resolution and when it came to specifically defining 2k/4k it was ambiguous at best. I definitely think there should be a standard definition for 2k, 4k, etc...

Unfortunately, most vendors list a pretty broad spectrum of exact resolutions under the 2k and 4k banners.

Newegg for example includes all of the following as 2k:
2560 x 1440 (2K)(641)
2048 x 1536 (2K)(4)
2560 x 1024(9)
2560 x 1080 (2K)(162)
2560 x 1600 (2K)(76)
2560 x 2048 (2K)(4)
3440 x 1440 (2K)(86)

wtf is that? There are 7 different 2ks? It's too confusing.

Anyway, I guess I'll just say it's 2560 x 1440

I linked the standards. It is defined...this why i am trying to clear it up. I cant help what newegg posts. ;)
