Only thing I need a floppy drive for is RAID as well since it won't slipstream well. But I can only remember needing a driver for SATA back when it first came out. Think it was before SP2 but im not 100% sure. I've never had to load a SATA drive again at install. Its just a standard slipstream, with some options where I don't select anything at install, but its just XP with SP2 thats it not even any updates.
