I currently have the following pc:

Intel q9550 @ 3.4
Asus p5q motherboard
4 gigs of ddr2-800 ram
Nvidia GeForce 8800gt 512
PC Power & Cooling 750 watt psu

To make a long story short, if I buy a new videocard now I get it for 150 less then I would if I waited. While I don't exactly need a new videocard, should I upgrade to something like a gtx 285, or stick with what I have?

I mostly play bf2/css/l4d, but I have also played crysis/far cry 2 on almost all high settings without lagging out too bad. Is it a good time to upgrade or should i wait for gtx300/radeon 5000 series.

Thanks

the gtx 300 series will be dual core cpus
up to around 2 X 1ghz in a single gpu a literal dual core gpu
also the memory will begin at 446 bit and possibly up to 1024bit
havent heard anything about hd500 series but theres revoloution coming so id wait

i honestly think that a 4870 for $150 is a great buy, otherwise you will probably overpay for some nvidia card

you could actually get 2x 4870 512mb for about 300, which is around the price of a 385gtx but with much more performance

i strongly disagree
a 4870x2 barely overpowers the gtx 295
do you really think it will stand up to a dual core 1ghz gpu at around 700something bit memory

NVIDIA to cancel G200b and to release new G3x0. It will integrate 384SP and it will use 45nm technology. Its power consumption will cut a lot than G200. Its clocks will be improved to 850/2000MHz. It will match 1GB 256bit GDDR5 memory and the clock will be more than 4000MHz. It will defeat 4870X2.
also featuring 384 stream processors
