Lightning effect

How would i create a Lightning effect inside my computer case.
Random flashes of white leds through out the inside of my case.
Being adjustable of brightness and intensity.

A micro controller is probably your best bet. Something like an arduino or similar device. You would need to setup a couple zones of LEDs in the case and time the flashes to some sort of program.
