Is there anything wrong with mixing rams? My friend has a 256 stick of pc2700. He wants to get another 256. Could he get a stick of 3200? or would that cause a problem?
True they will run at the slower speed. But if he does get the 3200 just pull the 2700 out and keep it as a spare, or he could send it to me for my server I'll take reaaaalllly good care of it
its not good for overclocking to mix ram speeds either. you may want to keep that in mind before you purchase ram. If possible just get 2 pc3200 sticks.

...mostly because you may need extra voltage on the memory and different sticks respond differently to different voltages.
It would be wiser to get a single 512mb pc3200 stick and sell the pc2700. A single stick of DDR will overclock better than two will. Two sticks put extra work on the memory controller, which is not good for overclocking.
