Is there anything wrong with mixing rams? My friend has a 256 stick of pc2700. He wants to get another 256. Could he get a stick of 3200? or would that cause a problem?

its not good for overclocking to mix ram speeds either. you may want to keep that in mind before you purchase ram. If possible just get 2 pc3200 sticks.

...mostly because you may need extra voltage on the memory and different sticks respond differently to different voltages.

It would be wiser to get a single 512mb pc3200 stick and sell the pc2700. A single stick of DDR will overclock better than two will. Two sticks put extra work on the memory controller, which is not good for overclocking.
