Need help on kt7a running Windows XP

you should not have any problems but to be specific what is ur total setup as in
Hardrive(s) name and size and rpm
video card
sound card
modem or lan
CD rom
memory
stuff like that may help us

I think my problem was more RAID related so if your not Running RAID I don't think I can be of any help.
What worked for me was a modified 7n bios with highpoint bios v2.31 then pressing f6 at setup and using Highpoint 2.31 XP drivers.
If you have a NVIDIA gfx card supposedly that can be a problem.
I'd see paul's FAQ (viahardware.com) for more info about that.
Also...try amdmb.com/newsgroups as this bb board isn't really that OS savy.
Since you're not running raid I'd try and set your BIOS to "Default" settings, and/or consider a BIOS upgrade.

I think it might be the video card.
My system configuration:
AMD Duron 850
ABIT KT7A v1.3
Cooler Master DP5-6I31C
256 MB Kingston Sdram PC133 RAM
Inno3D Tornado Geforce2 MX/MX400
SMC Etherpower II 10/100 Ethernet Adapter
C-Media CMI8738/C3DX PCI Audio
Sony CDU5221 CDROM
I have to install the VIA service pack drivers before installing the video card driver.
Or I will get no display. (For 98 and 2000)
I will try to install Windows XP as soon as I backup my HD.
