I have trouble get stable above 260 using 2.5-4-3-10 setting @2.9v using " ocz pc3200EL plat. rev.2" everything else on auto. I switch between the dimms slot, but no improvement. I read some thread and ppl can reach 280+ @ 2.5-4-3-10 , so I like to know what kind of setting or components they use to reach this timing and speed. btw I use 2x512mb. Is it possible that might PSU too low, I only got a 350W

try using 2.5-4-4-10 with these timings.......

CPC=disabled
tRRD=00
tRC=13
tRFC=15
tREF=3120
DQS skew stuff= Increase, and 128.

Dram drive strength= level 1, or 2
Read preamble=6ns
Max Async latency=8ns

See how this goes, then try 2.5-4-4-10

CPC=enabled, and all the other timings the same

then if that works try 2.5-4-3-10, cpc enabled, and all the other timings...

just a thought somebody said if I disable the APIC mode in bio will make more stable. is this true, what is APIC mode, and does it affect stability and perfermance?

I can boot into window and run sandra fine with the ram, but can't pass the memtest

the thing is I try 2.5 4 4 10 and everything else is auto it will pass sandra for several hr, but it will not pass memtest, cpc is on

Well memtest is the REAL test.. Turning CPC off won't hurt you that much - at least you can run the CPU FSB higher as well as the memory. The only thing it will effect are Sandra benchmarks for the most part, big whoop..

I have a very good experience with 2x512 ocz3700el and dfi ut 250, I use this timings:

A64 3200 NC + power enermax 475w
fsb 259
clk 10

cpc=on
tcl=2.5
trcd=03
tras=07
trp=03
trc=07
trfc=11
trrd=02
twr=02
twtr=01
twrt=02
tref=4708
twcl=01
skew=increasing
skew value=124
drive stength= lev.1
max async latency=0.8
all rest auto

it rocks and is very stable :D

Hello s002wjh

I'm using thermalright XP 120 with a noiseblocker sx2 120 on it.

It is VERY quiet and woks really well. :clap:

You must NOT use the termal paste that comes with it! It is no good, I'm using a ceramic one and I get 20% lower temp!

**temp idle is 39, with the case closed.(working on it)

-when you say you can not get the ram stable over 260 are you sure that is not the cpu that can not take it?

- My cpu stop at 2590. My ram can go up to 275 (2x512 ocz 3700el) with similar settings but I have to lower the cpu and the overall system performance decrease!

Ex. 259x10 and 275x9

I gess if I only use 1x512 ram would go much higher, 300 or more.

I use 8x multiplier to make sure cpu is stable, the ram just won't pass the memtest at 258+, also i use xp90, but my temp is 45 idle, do you think the paste need to be settle in? I use AS5, and stock bio, I heard this bio give wrong temp.

Every chip seems to give a different temp. I've ran 3 chips through my UT 250gb and each has had drastic differences in readings. My first 3400+ Clawhammer idled in the low 30's at 2.4ghz, went up to 46-47C under full load at 1.6volts and could run a 300HTT speed. This was using a XP-120 hsf.

I replaced it with a Mobile 3200+ Clawhammer 1.4v processor, which idles at 52C presently and goes to 57C under load with a SLK-948U. This is totally wrong as the heatsink is hardly warm and the contact patch with AS5 is perfect. This chip won't run higher than 285HTT (won't complete the post, no matter the mhz).

what bios are you using man?

if you are on the OEM bios, going to a 9/14 or later should help this some.....
