Tools/Options/Mail Setup
Make sure the Send Immediately When Connected is checked.

To set up auto-checking for messages:
Click Send/Receive button.
Tick the checkbox where it says Schedule an Auto Send/Receive Every X Minutes.

You can adjust how long you want Outlook to check for new messages.

I knew about that but you still have to wait 1 minute before it downloads automatically. Better off just to click on the send/receive button. What i want is to have the program download any new messages when i open it. Thanks for the info though.
