P5KR + Wifi card = hardlock!

My friend has just built a new system up using an Asus P5KR motherboard. He is trying to install a DWL ag530 dlink wireless PCI card onto it. The installation is freezing the PC no matter what he trys. He had used the hardware wizard, the default installer, and every version of the driver he can find on the net. Mobo drivers are the latest version and we just updated the BIOS too. But it still locks up. We have tried different PCI slots, but all results are the same.

Has anyone else had a problem like this? Or suggestions as to a solution?
