The iwill board supports K6-2s, but you're probably limited by the FSB, depending on what's stable, you might only get 6x66=400, or 6x75=450 or 6x83=500 out of it. Remember of course that 75 or 83 will overclock the PCI bus. In general, a lot of boards with the 430 TX will support the K6-2s, but only up to those speeds. K6-2s are not multi locked, so there's no problem setting the 500 up to test it at 66x6 if you're happy running it at 400 until you find a better board. The K6-2+ is a little problematic in that it has some enhancements that older boards might not support well. For that chip one could really use a board with a SiS 530 chipset, or a VIA MVP3 or MVP4, or an ALI VI, real super 7 100Mhz+ chipsets. Then put a spare socket A fan on her, PC133 RAM, set the multi for 6 and bang up the FSB to 124 or 133

thanks do u know if one of thoes new unsuported features could cause the cpu to only run at 66 mhz cause no matter wat i do it wont go over 66 core

Could be the board or the PCI cards, or the onboard I/O, 430TX only officially supported 66Mhz FSB, so they can sometimes be a PITA to run at 75 or 83.

no its not the fsb im talking about its the core its only comeing up as 66mhz in the bios repo man suggested that it might just be the bios and it realy is running at 400 but ill be able to find out as soon as i get windows on it so i will keep u posted


ps. im useing all 66mhz capable pci cards so is a 83 fsb even gonna afect them?

yep he was right the bios didnt detect the right clocks but it is running at 400 and i now have a L3 cache woot woot wow this mobo never went so fast

well i was able to get a 75mhzfsb / 450core out o this mobo heres how

if 83mhz isnt in the 2 i havent tried does any one know of a way i can get to it maby 2 jumppers? ill try thise 2 but i dont think its on them ill keep u guys posted.... well i checked and its a no go only 75mhz butim gonna try combinations of 2 jumpers

Well if the 83Mhz isn't available on the clock jumpers it might be gettable using SoftFSB if it supports the clockchip on that motherboard.

There's CPUCool and CPUFSB, CPUFSB is a cut down version of CPUCool with just the FSB adjustments.

And there's some more K6-2, K6-3, K6-2+ and K6-3+ tweaking utils here...

well cpufsb didnt work it doesnt support my clock generator its a phase link pll52c62-01xc im gonna try speed fan i think it has something like that on it..... nope that didnt work well im out of ideas i think ill google it for a while

well notin worked to ghange the fsb to 83 but i emailed the bios to someone and they are gonna patch it up for me so it soports the k62

ps can i mod the board itsself to run at 83 or even better 91.6 maby by ordering a diferent crystal will the board even handel 91.6mhz? cause i think my pci cards can they are all 66mhz pci capeable

why dony you get a 450Mhz or even 500Mhz K6 3?

caus i already have a k62+ 550 and the k63+ 500s cost like 50 bux the problem is the mobo wont let me run the proc faster than 450 so even if i get a k63+ 500 it would only run at 450
