question about mobo backplate

So I ordered an open box mobo from newegg (Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R) and it came without a backplate. Now my question is, a.how can I get one? and b.do I really need one?

A backplate for what?

The 775 socket I am assuming? If a cooler needs a backplate, it will come with one when you buy it. Otherwise, no backplate is needed..

I am sure he is talking about the backplate that goes in the case where your connections poke through the back.
I have run several systems without them and never had any issues.

Yes I'm talking about what hkgonra described. I'm just thinking about how airflow will be affected. I'm gonna have a bunch of 120mm fans blowing in and out of this case.
