Hi people, I'm new here and am looking into WC my current setup. This will be the first time I WC a PC. I have goone through the stickies here and on other forums. Have a pretty good idea as to what I am going to be doing but have run into a problem with choice of radiator.

Due to space constraints I will be using a slim (max 35mm thick) 120.2 radiator in a single loop to cool an i5 2500K. My problem is which radiator to use. Frozencpu has got 3 that I can use.
1 XSPC RS240 Dual 120mm Low Profile.

2 Black Ice GT Stealth 240 Radiator

3Magicool Extreme Dual 120mm Radiator - Slim Profile
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1..._LC-RADI240.html?id=AgD2yRhn&mv_pc=4941#blank

I've been able to find out that the xspc is a low fpi radiator and the black ice is a high fpi radiator. Haven't been able to find any info on the magicool one though.

I have 2 questions 1) does anybody know where I can get info on the magicool radiator, such fpi and the likes and 2) which radiator would you recommend to use.

As I said this is a simple loop to just cool the CPU.:)

thanks

Look up Bunymania posts on xtreme forums. It was last year or the year before. They are decent rads. From the EU, a German brand.

Maybe Skinneelabs.com or Martinsliquidlab.org has something.

what fans? push/pull or just two fans total. I'd probably go for the black ice if you can push/pull or maybe even the black ice if you can only push or pull but use stronger fans.

1) Magicool information is at their site here and fpi is 14.

2) I would use an Alphacool ST30. I think it is the best all-around slim rad at 30 mm and it even has screw-guards to avoid puncturing the radiator. I didn't see it at Frozen. The testing was done at http://martinsliquidlab.org/. Look under radiators for testing. Good luck. :)

^ music has a point, the alphacool radiators seem to dominate, by a small margin. I still think fan choice HIGHLY plays in to this. WHAT FANS?

Thanks for the info. Looks like I need to do some more research. the positive side have narrowed it down to either the Alpacool or Magicool radiators, due to the fpi and fans choice increasing. Though leaning to the Alphacool, I like that they have the screw guard. Not sure yet on the fans as I am rather limited with the choice of fans in South Africa. Need to sort that out still. Have been looking at the Coolermaster Xtraflo or Blade Master, they look good spec wise. Otherwise I'll use one of the Corsair fans

If you can handle the gray blades, the Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP15's are popular for good reasons. They have a high cfm per noise ratio and work well on radiators - take a look at page 3 of this testing by Martinm210. AP15's also undervolt well to 1000 rpm with fan controllers or voltage control on the main board, and are nearly silent at that rpm. Please have some healthy skepticism regarding manufacturer's specs if the fans are not independently tested on radiators. Good luck. :)
