Speaker hack?

i have some old speakers, i was wondering if there was anyway i could boost their output. they are just not loud enough. any ideas? they are some compaq speakers, not amplified(only cord going to them is to the soundcard)

Its possible. I can't have no idea how, but if you built a small amplifier, the speakers could be louder. There is a risk of blowing them, but I think most speakers can go a few watts higher then what they come stock.

iam not worried about blowing these. iam due for a better speaker system anyway. just wanna fool around with to see if i can make em better.

Simple - hook an amplifier in between the source and the speakers.

You should be able to get a basic stereo amp for not-a-lotta-bucks.....
