Task Manager & msconfig HELP.....

Hey I have never seen this problem & I dont know whats causing it.

OS=XPpro

When I try to run task manager or msconfig they pop open for about 2 seconds & then Imediataly Close....

I tryed over & over they just pop open & then close themselves as if I closed it.

Ive rebooted

made sure I was loged in as Admin...

But the problem still persists I dont even know where to begin

Run a thorough virus scan.

redduc900 may be right, i had a virus one time that would crash the task manager and my anti-virus software anytime either of them tried to initialize, was a real pain to get rid of.

Ok I found the problem it was this WORM...

Im not sure how I got it because my Internet travel is limited & very gaurded xp firewall and an Elec... Firewall

I think ICQ Droped it on me...

The Trend Micro Free Virus scaner found it & Killed it

No more problem

I also checked all the registery locations that they suggest & system.ini
