xxgg, after seeing your results, can you complain about the core you have now? :)

If you do check, I'm curious to know what it says for the core. 563mhz core is rather VERY good in my opinion.

I had a GTO² that could only do 510mhz that I sold on egay.

Finally broke 6500 after clocking my Opteron 144 up to 2592 (it's stable at 2600 now though, been folding and gaming on it for about 4 days). I also put on a Zalman VF700-CU and the temps are quite a bit lower now. I think I'll do a pencil volt mod this weekend to see if I can get anything more out of this card.

You so far got yourself a X850XT PE. :) That's what I run my card at 24-7 cuz I just don't need more juice with the game I play.

It's just that I do my shopping locally. I don't like online shopping/shipping.

Btw... does it overclock better or just run cooler? passive cooling ?

Goal of the project is ? and the result ?

By the way...
how did you mount the heatsink on there ?

I've already benched my weaker card 10Mhz higher than I could get it with the ATI Silencer 5. So far I'm pretty happy. Right now the card is clocking 540/540 with load temps at 42.9°C and it's actually 50°F outside today (unheard of for this time of year, it should be like 20°F)....... with temps that low I can definately see a voltmod in my future...... :D

yesterday i received my x800gto² from newegg. it shows as a r430 core, 16 pipes out of the box. i have it running stable right now at 520/600, any higher on the core and i start to artifact or i lose video completely. i'll take a screenshot later, gotta go drinking and for some reason 3dmark03 and 05 won't run on this opteron system. are those programs not 100% compatible with winxp x64 edition?

Well, here it is....

My first ever "solder" vgpu mod.

I'm going to wait till my new GPU waterblock gets here to mess with the voltage. I'll keep ya'll up to date though.

You must have read it wrong. R480 is the core used on the GTO². R430 is the core used for the X800XL and you'd need to use a pelt or phase to get 520Mhz out of it.

Is that a hot glue mountain on there?

What does flashing bios from GTO2 to X850XT do to GPU & Memory voltage and memory timing ?

-------
By the way,,, so why are Sapphire GTO2 releasing the card with 16 active pipelines? Just to show that their GTO card is faster than other brands of GTO? GTO2 w/16pipe is exactly same as X800XL than. 3DMark thinks my card is X800XL since softwares sees my core as R430 and default clock of 400/490.

I am just wondering.

Just flashed my GTO² to the Sapphire X850XT PE bios, and it works nicely. :)

Gonna run ATI tool and see if it helped anything, but definitely this is a good thing cuz I can just keep it at these speeds forever. :)

Hello all i am new here and I just got my X800GTO2 last night. I will be workin on a signature with my system specs in a lil bit but I wanted to post my scores so far

the temp got a lil high with the oc right around 60c not bad with stock cooling I will have the bench mark for 05 in a lil bit need to get my kids ready for school.

On a side note what is a good free image hosting site?

:welcome: to the forums......
Looking good so far Country. You might want to change the TIM on the card if you're going to stick with stock cooling for awhile. Should be more life in the card.
