I wouldn't mount the DVD drives at 45 degree angles like that, seems like a bad idea! In fact I'm not sure what you would gain by making such a large laptop.

the design has been significantly revised. The Opticals are going to be horizontal- Im debating whether to take the plunge and by slim notebook type drives instead of standard. The performance is severely lacking on them and they're almost double the price. I'll post the new sketches after I sketchupify them.
