I want to buy new MOBO + RAM because I think it might be my current motherboard that causes stutters after many days of troubleshooting. I was thinking of:

Motherboard: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-STRIX...=1539795853&sr=8-4&keywords=motherboard strix

RAM: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CM...795892&sr=1-1&keywords=corsair+16gb+ddr4&th=1

Without links:

Motherboard: ASUS LGA 1151 STRIX GAMING Intel Z270 ATX Motherboard - Black

RAM: Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3000 MHz C15 XMP 2.0 High Performance Desktop Memory Kit, Black

If you guys could help me out pick the best motherboard and RAM it would be great! My current specs are V

Edit: BTW will the z270 mobo support my 4th gen CPU?

That motherboard doesn't support your cpu. Which is why in the other thread, I mentioned z97 if you want to keep your cpu. You can see cpu compatibility in your link.

Ahhh damn... that's so stupid that they made it like that just to milk more money. It feels bad to buy a z97 board because it will not be of any upgrade to my system.

We haven't been able to pin anything down and seems he wants to upgrade. See his other thread. :)

Yeah I've ran out of ideas and it seems that the issue narrowed down to PSU (i will check that tommorow from a friend), motherboard, and CPU. Everything else has been tested.

I wouldn't place money on anything at this point.

Either you get another haswell cpu and test, or get another Z97 motherboard and test... you are down to that to me...

Well it MUST be one of those things right? Because what else, am I right?

Can't decide between these two mobos:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Z370-Aorus...d=1539969395&sr=1-3&keywords=z370+motherboard

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-Intel...d=1539969395&sr=1-1&keywords=z370+motherboard

I need at least 5 fast USB ports on the motherboard, don't need wifi, potentially looking to overclock. From what I've heard Asus motherboards are generally really good, but the Aorus looks nice tbh, but I don't know. Which one would you take guys?

Neither will work with your LGA 1150 i7-4790K Haswell CPU. Why are you still looking at LGA 1151 Z370 motherboards for your LGA 1150 CPU? You need to get a used or refurbished LGA 1150 Z97 motherboard. Look on ebay, they start at around $100 in the US.

Oh Sorry I forgot to mention I'd like to upgrade to the recent CPU's. If I'm going to change my stuff might as well upgrade because otherwise it just feels bad for me..
