wanted to install BeOS on a fresh hard drive. neone know how to do this with the demo version? I am tired of running win2k and linux and i wanted to try something different now that i have a second machine. I've tried it before but never had the guts to actually delete windows to install another os( yes i know about dual boot). any info would be a great help.

I've tried out BeOS 5 Personal Edition. It's free, but has some limitations. First, it needs a windows OS already installed. After that, installation is a breeze. Check out these links, they explain everything better than I ever could.

I tried it and loved it. It's extremely fast. Made my PII333 perform like a PIII 500. I'm just waiting to get some money and buy the real version.

It doesn't seem to work with my razer boomslang 2000 so I'll have to buy a new mouse for it :(. You can install it on a Dos (i used 6.2 and it worked just fine) partition and make a boot floppy.
