Hi, ive just decided to go watercooling. I hear everyone saying its best to build your own setup and not buy a kit because it will work out cheaper and much better. Living here in the UK i have a limited access of makes of parts which i can get hold of. I just need some help with what parts you think i should buy, i can get my hands on any stuff from these makes:

Innovatek ( http://www.over-clock.co.uk/ )
Swiftech ( http://www.pclincs.co.uk )
Black Ice ( http://www.over-clock.co.uk/ http://www.pclincs.co.uk )
Einhem ( all of the shops listed )
Maxxxpert ( http://www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk/ )
Atlantis ( http://www.overclockedpc.co.uk/ )

What pump/rad/block/res etc...

Im using it to cool my Athlon 2200XP and maybe in the future my northbridge and maybe my gpu.

I think my sole intention is more toward the silent then the cooling side although i wouldnt mind a setup that was good at cooling too.

Thanks
Seal

so get the atlantis waterblock! those rule! iv seen a few good things about them, no bad things. they perform much better than the maze 3, and if your into the looks they look good:p

ill take a look around that site see what else you should get,

can you get ahold of a heatercore?

No i dont think so, i think ive made a prelimenary list, how does it sound:

Swiftech or Maze3 block
Eheim 1048
Black ice pro rad
Clear Innova-res

Also which should i go for, 1/2 or 3/8?

Im just using it to cool my cpu at the moment but might decide to cool other things in the future like northbridge and gpu.

dude, get the atlantis block! 1/2 is better, more flow.
eheim pump is good
the rez, i think that only comes in 1/4 tubing?
i say just go cpu, the gfx card, you prob wont get too much out of it

What res should i get then? cant be too big because i have quite a small case.

bleeding, you fill it up thru there or submerge the pump and fill up the system then close it, its so all the air in the system bleeds thru it, theres an article on my website, click my WWW

Guys I've JUST ordered my parts, thanks for all your help with suggestions on what i should get but this is whats on my reciepts:

Atlantis rev 3 CPU waterblock
Eheim 1048
Black Ice Pro
(very expensive) Silicone tubing
Purple ice
UV dye
T connector
All the other connectors

I've gone for the 1/2" setup with a T connector instead of a res thx to maskedgeek (saved me about £25 - approx $40 usd)

Any tips on setup? Im a first timer on this, also what concerntration of water/dye/purple ice should i use and how should i set it up, (what order does the pump, t, gpu, rad shall i put everything in) Also im a bit concered about this T connector and the little tube that goes up from it, should i put a cover on top of it because im a little paranoid about water spilling from it.

Thanks

take a look at the link in my sig. I've put together a custom w/c setup and it cools great. there are links on the page for every component. along with a project log.

where do you get the atlantic waterblock.... is it expensive? i might wanan get that if it performs a lot better then the maze3 and costs only a littel bit more.

Im living in the uk and got it from Overclockedpc.co.uk

Cost me £44.94 and its availiable with all sorts of different fittings and an alu cap if you want.

Anyone got any good websites explaining more detailed info on a T connector fitting (used instead of a rad)? I've seen maskedgeeks already but want to see more pics of it in use.

Thanks

I think you should put a good tight cap over it unless you're building a fountain. :eh?:
