My brother has an mp3 player thing. Its tiny, apparently the person he got it from ordered it through ebay and it came from China! He has since lost the USB cable that came with it that also charges it. The front of it says "amv/mp4/rec/fm" but can play mp3s and videos on it too (which is amazing for something that fits in the palm of my hand.)

anyways, here is a pic of the connector if anyone can tell me where to find it. It isnt like any USB type ive seen, though it has a USB logo on the cover.

2 words... Macro Lens. :)
Since it's hard to see what you have there, but I believe you that it has the USB logo on it, I'm going to take a stab at Mini-A or B USB OTG.

Does it look like it would fit one of these? If so, then definitely USB OTG.

doesnt look like it would fit either of those, the one on the left is close but there are no bends like that on this port. it seem to be more of a square shape with rounded edges and notches cut out and a male receptor right in the middle of the plug, look closely and you wont see any sharp "corners" in that pic i put up. I dunno, this thing is weird. Even says "hi-speed" USB on the back of the mp3 player. Here is a pic of it...

photobucket keeps blowing up the pic haha. They usually look good so forgive the blowy-uppyness.

If it has a USB logo, I'm willin' to bet it's miniUSB as well...A or B, I couldn't begin to guess. They make multi-packages of different USB adapters, buy one and try all 6.

OR just bring it to any electronic shop and try to find someone knowledgable and ask them...thats what they're there for :bday:

I found two just like that pic...one is for Vivitar and one is for the iRiver.
They look just alike, so I'd bet the pinout is different.
If I had to guess I'd say the out of stock iRiver is the one for you, but it's not my money I'd be gambling with.

Find a site that has both, and order them both. Return the one that doesn't work.
Good luck mate!

looks like either of those should work! thanks alot!

I can kind of make it out. i think it would be the black one Nabis posted. Dont quote me on that though. Its either that or something like this
And one question, why would you want to watch videos on a screen that small?

God damn... all companies that use USB connections should just get together and make a universally compatible connector.

There are what, like 6 different USB connectors now?

Because its to convient. And as Im typing this, theres probably some mps player company in Japan developing a seventh.

But, Did you try taking another picture? or you could always attempt to draw it in paint. That might help a little.

I have had 2 different iRiver MP3 players (the H10, and the PMP-120) and neither use that USB style interface. Or, any of the iRivers I have seen for that matter.
