How are the Acorp boards? Seem to recall some AGP issues.

no agp issues, the ONLY (i stress ONLY) issue i have had with the motherboard (i have 2) is that when i set up my first one, i had to play PCI card switcharoo with my scsi card to see where it liked to be, i was getting weird win 2k install hangs until i found that it only liked the scsi card being in PCI slot 1. Odd little bit of info i found out, all other PCI slots populated, and working fine, just for some reason the scsi card (adapted 2940U2W) would only work in PCI 1.

here is setup of one of them

AGP = Geforce 3 ti 200
PCI5=hollywood + dvd decoder
PCI4=realtek pci nic
PCI3=soundblaster live
PCI2=3com 905TX nic
PCI1=adaptec 2940u2w

other system is exactly the same, except it only has one nic

Dual 1.2 AthlonMPs
Tyan TigerMP
512 mb DDR ECC ram

Bought it second hand two days ago!
The rest of the components aren't anything to write home about, but wait until my next paycheck ;)

Case: Modified Addtronics W8600 Full WTX Tower (actually ATX, not sure why it's sold as WTX)
Power Supply: PC Power and Cooling Silencer 400 ATX
Mainboard: Supermicro P3TDE6-G
Processors: 2x Intel Pentium III/1000A with passive heat sinks.
Memory: 4GB (4 1024mb DIMMs) ECC PC133 SDRAM
Hard Disk: Four Seagate Barracuda 180s in RAID 0+1 (with liquid bearings)
Graphics Card: Matrox G550
Monitor: 2x Eizo F980 (shared with my main rig via a KVM switch)
CD-ROM: 48x Sanyo SCSI
CD-RW: 24x Yamaha SCSI

This is was a server which I made money on, but after it was no longer needed, I traded in the drives (four IBM Ultrastar 36LZX) for these four, and it's now my silent PC.

No-one's telling what the DO with them (Johan did ask)

MSI K7D with dual MP 1.2Ghz
512M PC2700 RAM, 40G Maxtor @ 7200
(letting the Arctic Silver work in before I see how far I can kick 'em up).

This kid's doing VC++ development, 3DSMax modelling/rendering, Photoshop, Frontpage, some Maya tests (plugins), Protein Folding, Cubase VST with Halion (mostly for the plugins I'm making there), AutoCAD (for the plugins and addon's I'm making for that), and finally getting around to hearing all those MP3's I got off Napster before it died.

Alton (yes Alton, not Athlon) dual P2-333 - couldn't push it further
512M PC66 RAM
20Gigs in 5 drives (1 & CD on the soundblaster's IDE)

This old man's semi retired - Used to do the VC++, now he's just folding, routing the cable modem to the wife 'n kids, and rattling the bearings down on those $3 fans from '98.

how hard is it to o/c the chips on the Asus board? Ill be snagging myself a nice athlon duallie soon, but they are so un-overclockable. and I am hit with the o/c'ing addiction quite badly, i dont think i can ever have a sub-160 FSB again.
BTW thats a nice o/c on a duallie:)

The Asus is one of the better of the MPX boards, the bios has many features for pushing FSB. However, the MPX chipset is limited to 150 FSB :(

jasonlylevene: EVERYONE SHOULD BE FOLDING!

Damn straight! Since one of the goals is a cure for Alzheimer's, the "old" system's folding is credited to the name of my grandmother, lost in '94.

There's only 100,000 of us - gentlemen? ;)

I like searching for ET too, but the Folding@home may one day save your life.

Sorry, just thought I'd stick my foot in that opening...

I'll return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

I like SMP.... :)

Dual Coppermine PIII 600's @ stock right now. 133 puts them at a nice 800 mhz. I have 512 of crucial ecc in it right now as well. I'm loving it! :)

Wow, some of these Xeon rigs are looking a little tasty.

But all will sucome to the mighty kevmarks system. (best evil laugh) UH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH!!!!!

- 2x 2000+ MP (real MP's, no bridge mod required)
- Asus A7M266-D
- 384 meg of PC2100
- Gainward Ti4200 128mb o/c to 4600 out of the box :D
- Antec TruePower 480w PSU
- Klipch 2.1 speakers
- IBM P260 (sony G520 21" trinitron) black monitor
- Chieftech Black Dragon Full tower, modded with Blue LEDS
- 120 GB WD12000BB linux drive
- 40 gb Seagate Barracuda 4 Windows Drive
- Lite-On 40x DVD-ROM
- Cordless Black keyboard, Logitec lazar mouse
- SK6's with 60mm low speed sunnons
- Hardcano II for monitoring those temps!
- Linksys NIC

If it wasn't for the blue LEDS, you wouldn't even know the kevmarks system was switched on. It makes no noise at all.

Now to cut and paste all this in to my sig (just kidding :D)

Sony DRU500A DVD-Writer when I can find some in stock at a reasonable price.
