Does anyone know of the release date of Windows XP 64-bit to the public? I have read on the M$ website that you can get Windows XP 64-bit, but only if you purchase a HP Itanium Workstation computer. Is there a chance that M$ will release the new WinXP 64-bit for store purchase?

I think it would be a great upgrade for my new AMD 64 system.

you can get it now. it comes with a 6month-1year trial or something. a bunch of people here have it. from what i understand there are very few drivers written for it so changing to xp64 is kinda pointless.

In that case I guess I will wait until next year to try xp64. I will stick with Windows XP Pro for now.

Yeah...I think it will run 32-bit apps and 64-bit apps. I am sure the 64-bit apps will run faster and better.
