i want to cut a fanhole into my tower so that a fan blows fresh air direct upon the p4 cooler
i still don't have my mainboard but want to buy some soon...

so i need some coordinates of the p4 on the mainboard i think it's always the same caused by intel's "guidelines"

by the way how effective is the boxed cooler on a pentium 4 northwood 1.6 is it the same as for the faster variants?

from what I have seen, the socket is usually in a slightly different position from brand to brand. But I bet you could just cut a slightly bigger hole for your duct to cover all the possibilities.

Try searching the Intel site for ATX mob specs- I've found 1 such .PDF so far but all it talks about is the overall board sizes and mounting holes locations.
