I have a water cooled XFX MERC 319 RX6950 XT. When I installed the waterblock I upgraded the thermal pads to Gelid pads. The pads that came with the waterblock were squishy and micked out at 1.2. So I squished 1.5 Gelid pads down to 1.2-1.3 before I applied them. Right now I am getting under load in Port Royal about at 30 c delta between my edge temps (43 c) and my hotspot (73 c).

As I am going to try and squeeze everything out of this card as I can, my question is, is this a normal delta being water cooled, or should I change out the pads to 1.0 Gelid pads?

30c difference from core to hotspot is not normal, you should be within 5c-20c at the most, either switch them out or double check if they're the same thickness.
