Hi everyone,
Ive been coming here for a while but its my first post and guess what i need some help just built a new system with brand new bits and guess what it wont get past the post mode gets stuck on either post 00 or post 05 no matter what i do i have done the following:

swapped the rimms to different make
swapped rimm positions
tryed booting with just video card cpu and memory
tryed booting with just memory and cpu
reseated the cpu 10 times
reseated the rimms 20 times
tryed every dipp switch in every combination
cleared the cmos after every adjustment
tryed a 2.0a p4

Now i have come to thinking its either bios is not the latest even though the board was packed by abit on 19/6/2002 or my board is faulty Any ideas what I should try as abit uk are the slower than british rail in there surport. My veiw is I could send the board back( dont really want to wait weeks for a replacment) buy a 1.5 p4 to try to boot or buy a new bios chip .Open to any surgestions as this is really bugging me now.

O has anyone done a full list of the post codes for the th7ii-raids yet ?

And lastly just want to say to admin and all posters keep the great work up !!!!

developments on the th7ii-raid

Hi all again,
well the devolpments of the non booting th7ii-raid are this I gave up on it thought I was going mad so took it to a good engineer to look at and he did the same as me swapped the processor over but he used a non northwood one tried dipp switchs in every position swapped rimms over and we still get error 05 on post abit uk dont answer the emails and abit NL do but there answer was "Set the jumpers as stated in the manual, so that the softmenu is enabled,
clear the cmos and make the settings for the CPU in soft menu III.
Connect all three power connectors to the board."
Now bear in mind i said to them this: "> Dear Sir/Madam

IT's about a different Abit board found at http://fae.abit.com.tw/eng/faq/qa/2001/2001101601.htm

"Question:

Why can't my KG7 system boot up after I enabled ECC function in BIOS setting?

Explanation:

With ECC function enabled, it takes some time to check the system memory. During this checking process, the system is frozen and without any message shown on the monitor. It looks like a POST failure but actually not the case. The KG7 system will power up successfully after memory checking is completed and it's about 10~30 seconds, which depends on the memory size. The larger size will take the longer time."

It may be worth a try to disable ECC.
