very wierd issue i discovered with my modem and motherboard. If i have my modem in my last pci slot (slot 6) the max speed i can get is 3.34 KPS but when it's in the 2nd pci slot i get 4.52KPS consistantly. Very ODD

If you check in your advanced options for your modems you'll find a section on changing the port(?) speeds. I've looked out and got cable/dsl now so the modem is in the drawre but you can change the speed options of the port itself to allow faster speeds but that might get you kicked off more if you have alot of noise on the line. Just in case you want to run it in the other slot.
