I´m gonna add two more harddrives(5 in total) and another RAID-card to my setup, so my PS propably will be insufficent.

I hear people whining about the quality of Enermax, is it true?
Anyway, I need a new PSU.

Nah, enermax make good PSUs. So do Antec. PC Power and Cooling are the best but also the most expensive.

Sparkle all the way. Upgraded from a generic, and all the lines are pretty much where they should be! My +5 lines never goes below 4.95, and that is running everything in my sig, plus 3 sunon 50CFM 80mm fans! Its fantastic for the price! Get a 400W for $75 from newegg.

I am running (2) by Antec for about 6 months now, no problems at all with them, Dual fan antec. they are really good

Hmm...guess it´s gonna be an Enermax.

They have a lot to choose from in 450 W size: Silent, Silent Plus, Whisper. All at about the same price. Do ya think there is any performance differences between them? LOL there is a 550W silent plus too

I have done extensive searching on psu's, and too what I know, there is not difference unless it is the wattage, i think the 450 is more than enough for your setup......i was going to get a 450 by antec, but instead i got two antec 300's, one for fans, one for everything else, go with the 450, and,,,enermax is good

I noticed that you had the round ide cables, just wondering, how well do they work for ya, ive been thinking bout using those

I don´t really know if they make any difference in terms of temperature, but I guess they do since the cable jam inside the case is a lot less. $40 for four cables aint that much, so I belive that tehy are worth their price.

I saw your question about round ide cables. I wondered about that same thing and called a cable specialist in Calif. They informed me that when you roll the cable into a tight roll as the round cables are it decreases performance. I asked how and was told I may have something to Electro Magnetic Interference. This company MAKES and sells cables of all types and even sells the round ones yet They advised against them.

Does this interfearence really matter with digital signals? I know that there can be noticable difference between cables in analouge application, but wouldn´t interfearence in digital cable rather cause packet losses in that case? That would mean that the harddrives propapbly wouldn´t work at all if they suffered from electro-magnetical interference. Maybe the rounded cables have better isolation?

The rounded cables are usually wrapped with the ground shield wires intermingled with the signal wires so no interference is present but if you round cables yourself you need to make sure to do this otherwise your ATA66/100/133 drives will start messing up big time. Every other wire in a flat ATA66 cable is a signal ground and it isolates each signal wire from it's neighbor. If the cables are rounded improperly two signal wires can get close to each other and crosstalk causing data corruption errors and loss of performance. Machine rounded cables don't suffer from this problem and are a good buy. They're MUCH easier to work with than the flat cables in my experience and they're rated all the way to ATA133. I say go for it.
