difference between the gskill ripjaws

so on newegg there's two similar gskill ripjaws, one is X one isn't

what is the difference between these two?

The G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series supports the intel XMP profile... other wise nothing other than a different heat spreader.

Yea those two kits are basically identical with the exception of XMP which if your planing to overclock are pretty irrelevant.

RipjawsX are new series made more with new chipsets on mind like P67/Z68 but for daily use it will be the same. Different will be also chips but in this case I can't say what is inside. I can only say that F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL can run at about 1600 8-8-8/8-9-8 and up to 1866 9-10-9 in +/- 0.1V ( probably other kit will make almost the same ). If you want something better then look on blue or black heat spreader series that usually have better chips but also cost more.
