ASUS Z170 Delux Mobo question

Good evening! I am building a new PC using this motherboard and I installed the CPU like I have in the past, the only thing I noticed after installing it was that the mobo came with a CPU installation tool that gets installed with the CPU. Is that plastic installation tool required? Should I take it apart and put it on, or can I leave it off?

i came from a long line of amd, athlon xp, athlon 64 x2, athlon II 620, phenom 955, phenom 1090t, fx 8370. and i gotta say, opening my new 5820k and 2011-3 board with cpu insertion tool was very intimidating! just a funny anecdote
