That has scam written all over it right?

Ya just looked up ResellerRatings and nothing there...

I think I'll avoid that :)

Gotta hand it to them though -- site looks nice.

Swoopo, the Exciting New Auction Site is Here!

Hmmm it looks like they charge $1 per bid. I mean if 50 people bid on something -- thats $50 that they gain and hope the product sells close to its "real" value once the bidding is over. There is a remote possibility its legit....but I ain't testing the waters. I mean it shows paypal so if anybody wants to try it go ahead! Just debit it from your CC (ensuring the paypal redirection link is legit of course) and chargeback if its a scam.

They were fromally known as Telebid. I have used them once during a drunken stupour with a friend. Needless to say I wasted £15/$30 on trying to win a PS3. I've not had any suspicious account activity since I've used them and this was around 3 months ago.

Bid at your discretion....you will never win lol

Looks like a failing ebay ripoff...I could code a better site.

One thing that amuses me greatly on their main page is the "300 free bids voucher" for $150...someone can't do math (hint, it's not 100% off).

i thinks its a scam

I find it quite interesting that with your first post on these boards you are apparently spamming us with links to some most probably bogus site. I removed the url from your post and you are welcome to reply with information as to why you should be allowed to continue to post on these boards

Super Swoopo Scam

I received my monthly Mastercard statement today and found a $500 charge to swoopo.com. I had never heard of this website, let alone bid on items featured on it. I contacted MC customer service, and they consider this to be a scam site. They also think that someone "harvested" my card number to use for bids on the site. If this is indeed the case, I hope whoever used my card got nothing. MC is dropping the charge and investigating the situation.

well the way it works is

you pay for bids ... eg you might purchase 50 bids for 50$
so you bid at the last second
but then the timer will skip up to 5 seconds....because you have just bidded

so basically every time someone bids the timer goes back up to 5-10 seconds
so the only way you can win the bid, is if you bid for the item, then nobody else bids for over 5 seconds.... allowing the timer to finally hit 0

also i think its a robot that bids half the time...and thats where the scam with...you could be bidding agains only your self for days, wasteing 100's of $$

I'm confused, how is it spam? It is a new user that bumped an old thread that they probably used either the search feature or google to find. You seem to label all new members as spam...
