Promise not working when using Intel

I must be really confused here. I have an ASUS P4C800-E and I have 2X Raptors running raid 0. Raid is running on the intel chip and I am having problems getting my other sata drives to work. The drives are seen in the bios but not in windows. I cant even get the controller installed in windows. So, I guess I need to know if I am using the Intel controller can I not use the promise controller?
