My mod is almost finished and I realized that I already miss being modding my pc. I mean, I've bought this pc in december, and it hasn't lost alot of value, so I' m thinking about selling it.

I would sell the case /w internal parts on e-bay when my mod will be finished (soon) and i hope to get at least $2200 USD. It may sound pricy, but Pure Pwnage is getting really popular and maybe with publicity I could sell it to a fan.

If I don't get a good price, maybe i'll wait for this summer when I get more money to begin my project.

Anyways, like I said I can't stop modding, these forums put a curse on me  , I want to learn stuff, and I need to mod to do that. I was thinking about this idea all week long, using all the hardware knowledges I got in the last 3 months.

My idea consist in building a nice looking rig with a lian-li case, do some little modifications on it, water cool all that stuff (never did that before). I'll be using a Green/orange theme: green wires w/ sleeving, Orange coolant for water cooling, orange IDE round and SATA cables, orange UV heatshrink and connectors. Two 12" uv ccfl giving the effect.

[2050$ CAD] Hardware:

Lian-li 65B case w/ window
Custom sleeved Thermaltake 480w PSU (can be changed, just need to find a pre-sleeved, modular if possible, with green sleeving and orange connectors and heatshrink)
ASUS A8N-SLI
2X1 GB OCZ Platinum
Evga E-Geforce 7900 GT superclocked
SB X-FI Xtreme Music
DVD-RW BenQ Lightscribe/LG/Liteon (need to decide what)
WD Caviar SE 250 GB 16mo
Athlon 64 X2 3800+

[650$ CAD] Water Cooling (need to learn, first timer with this) :

Danger Den TDX copper Water Block (CPU)
Danger Den A8N Maze 4 Chipset Water Block
Swiftech MCW60 VGA Water Block (will fit on 7900's ???)
Clear PVC tubing
UV Red/Orange Dye for the coolant
w/e coolant
Asetek WaterChill Hard Drive cooler 3 1/2" bay (do i really need this?)
Thermaltake Aquabay M2 Drive Bay Radiator (any good?)
Danger Den 2X 80mm Radiator (If I can mod the behind of the lian-li)
Thermaltake Aquabay M1 Dual 5.25" Reservoir/Flow Meter
Thermaltake T-type water temperature indicator
Swiftech MCP655 12v water pump

[200$ CAD] Other modding Stuff:

UV orange case fans (I'll see how many)
Green UV sleeving kit (for all other wires)
Dual UV 12" ccfl kit
Fan controller (need to choose)
Rocker switch for cathodes on a 3.5" cover
Molex/fans Extensions if needed for cable mangement
UV paint?
etc...

I hope I'll sell my pc when I put it over e-bay in a couple of weeks and get the money to begin that project. Like I said, this thing may be reported to the beginning of june or later if I don't have enough money.

This said, I still appreciate and need comments, suggestions on parts or advises on water cooling.

Thanks.

That would be a nice little system, however to be honest it would fail to really impress me as nice clean watercooled systems are not uncommon.
I think its aways nicer to think outside the box and do something a bit different which to be honest this idea really is not.
Waters fun though just make certain its well tested before installation

well as for the system parts it all looks good except for the psu, honestly, id stay away from that thermaltake with a dual core, for a fellow canuck, id go with a 520W OCZ Powerstream (single rail is better) and you could sleeve the wires yourself with a wire sleeving kit, if you wanted the green scheme.

as for the watercooling, few things
tdx=ok
chipset block= not worth it, waste of money and pump flow
mcw60= good idea, it should fit on 7900gts
tubing= get it at home hardware, rona, or whatever hardware store you have around you
coolant= 15% anti-freeze and 85% distilled water, you can get some red/orangish anti-freeze at i believe a bmw dealership, i think thats the colour they use (someone correct me if im wrong)
Hard Drive cooler= again waste basically, put a fan on it and thats good
Thermaltake Aquabay Radiator= crap
Danger Den 2X 80mm Radiator= better off geting a BIP2 or BIX2, use the 120mm's not the 80mm's
Thermaltake Aquabay M1 Dual 5.25" Reservoir/Flow Meter- dont bother, either use a t-line or pick up a cheap res when you order
Thermaltake T-type water temperature indicator= ok if you want to use it

anyways as for the watercooling, read the stickys, and test everything before you put it in your system

thanks guys, i'm beginning to read all the stickies and some guides to know more about this, maybe a original idea will come to me. I was thinking of modding the back of the lian-li PC65 to put a second 80mm if that's possible, and if that's possible again put a 2X120mm rad by modding the top.

But it's sure I want to make this project original so when I'll start it I'll try and make a open worklog so people (pros like in what i'm not :) ) can help me on the process and maybe come up with a good idea.

Update, i'm doing alot of searching through forums and reviews.

DVD-RW (LG, BenQ, LiteOn)
520-600w modular SLI ready good PSU
UV red connectors (depending on the PSU)
UV red heatshrink (depending on the PSU)
GPU Water Block (DD Nvidia 7800 worth it? or DD acetal maze 4? or Swiftech MCW60-B ?)
Reservoir (the thermaltake M1 would be nice looking, but it seems that some don't like it?)
UV paint (green one, i'll check which seems good)
2X120mm rad (if it can fit on the top of the LL PC65-B)
Rad boxes or fitting for fans
2X120mm fans for the rad (was thinking about AC AF12, 56 CFM and only 23.5 dBa, but maybe the deltas at 7v can be better)
Fan controller for 3.25" bay
Water temp reader (I was thinking about the thermaltake T-line temp monitor)
Rad grill (easy to pick some on FCPU)
"Danger Watercooled" UV reactive Windows applique (don't know yet)
Type of 1/2" tubing to use

That's about it, my budget will be around 2500 CAD I think....i'll see that soon when I'll try to sell my current pc.

can you give me some reasons please? I think a full tower would look nice indeeed and have lots of space, but I don't really need space on this project, it's not a server or anything and i'll be using a single HDD.

I'll put handles on it because I'll go to LAN parties sometimes, so a full tower would be some heavy stuff. What do you think?

The parts are almost all decided, I'll get advices from the pros here when my pc is sold. I'll probably buy the parts (NCIX and Performance-pcs) with the money from my pc selling first, then the other FCPU stuff with my summer job money (a couple of weeks after, that'll give me the time to be sure on parts and to mod the case.
