I used to overclock back in the PIII 700 days, and I know the very basic of overclockin, but this is baffling me.
I have a 4600+ X2 with an ASUS A8N32-SLI, when I put the overclocking profile on 10%, the board pushes the FSB to 220, to 2.64ghz, like it's supposed to. If I turn the profile off, and switch it to manual, and push the FSB to 235, the CPU Configuration screen says 2.58GHZ, but it says the multiplier is x11. The max multiplier is x12.
This makes no sense to me, how do I get it to keep from changing the multiplier on me, or whatever the problem is?
